Reasons for Taking the Course

​

Two common themes I saw when reading my peers' web pages were:

​

1. Seeking to understand the societal impact of various media

2. Looking to acquire relevant knowledge to strengthen themselves as developers.

​

I noticed some of my peers, like me, intend to become game developers.  I think it makes sense to take this course as a future game developer because video games ARE a medium!  Our class discussions have already sparked thoughts related to my dream career.

Common Interests

​

An interesting theme I noticed is that most of my classmates play video games.  Not only that, but the large range of genres that they play was really cool to read about.  My classmates play MMORPG's, RPG's, FPS's, MOBA's, Battle Royale's, sports games, and even more!

​

Most of the web pages I read included all or most of the top social media applications such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Reddit.  A common interest that caught my eye while I was scrolling web pages was watching Twitch.  I spend a lot of my time watching Twitch streamers so it was nice to see it on at least one page.
